brumbach-scholarship

The scholarship is made in honor of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Brumbach.  Both Catherine and Joseph Brumbach were involved in the field of education.  Mrs. Brumbach was a dedicated and devoted teacher in the Tolland Public School System.  Mr. Brumbach graduated from a private Catholic High School and was indebted to the school for the financial assistance he received in order to complete his studies.  He considered this to be a critical piece in allowing him to mature as a Catholic and in his chosen profession of climatology.  It was Joseph and Catherine’s intent to share a portion of their legacy in providing financial assistance in order for students to continue their Catholic education.

Students in grades 5, 6 and 7 are welcome to apply. The scholarship recipient will be selected by a committee of the pastor, the principal, faculty members and a board representative. Selection will be based on academic achievement, application essay and financial need.

The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship credit on their following year’s tuition at St. Bernard School in Enfield, CT. The winner will also have their name engraved on a plaque which will be placed in the Brumbach Room at the school.
