Welcome to another busy week in Grade 3! It was a pleasure to meet with you for Parent/Teacher conferences and I am happy that you are so supportive of our efforts to "teach" the whole child. Becoming strong, just and loving adults --guided by their faith and belief in Our Lord makes each child a success in life. All of our 3rd grade students have a real sense of purpose and I enjoy seeing them grow every day. Kudos to you!
Reading: we are continuing with our realistic fiction "A Day's Work" and after we finish this story we will do some shared reading with a short selection from Scholastics. Vocabulary skills and comprehension skills are the main focus. And oral/written retells are a part of the "shared" reading process.
Spelling: There are only 8 words this week (content words from "A Day's Work"...excitement, gardener, motioned, sadness, shivered, shocked, slammed, migration, carpenter, startled, and challenge words - omen and California. These are also in our Reading Street Practice Book and we will be working with these words all week.
Math: Keep up the good work with Moby Max and PLEASE review those multiplication flashcards every night (1 to 12 X tables) Thanks.
Happy Halloween to all! November is here already....
