We have been very busy in fourth grade learning about Advent and Christmas.
Just a reminder that all Scholastic book orders are due by Friday, December 8. This is a great way to buy books and help the class earn free books too!
In language arts, the students are putting some finishing touches on their “Rudolph in the Dark” stories. This week we are also transitioning to discussing prepositions and practicing identifying prepositions, prepositional phrases.
There will be a spelling test on Friday, December 8.
morning, forest, garbage, form, alarm, corner, story, argue, backyard, start, partner, storm, Florida, apartment, sport, force, forward, sharp, garden, Arkansas, departure, margarine, informative, snorkel, carnation
In math, the students have been very busy learning multiplication of two and three digit numbers by one digit. They are truly being mathematicians! Also, just a reminder that they are to complete 50 minutes each week of MobyMax math. MAKE SURE THAT THE STUDENT LOGS OUT AFTER EACH SESSION TO MAKE SURE THEIR TIME IS ACCURATELY RECORDED.
In reading, the fourth and fifth grade classes are reading “The White House Christmas Mystery”. Each day we are unsure of what to expect next!
In religion, the students are learning about the liturgical season of Advent and how we can prepare our hearts and minds for Christmas. Each Monday during Advent we gather as a school community to light our Advent wreath. Also, this Friday, December 8, is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception so we will gather as a school community for Mass at 1:15 pm on this Holy Day of Obligation. We will also read and discuss the Gospel for this Sunday.
Just a reminder that we are working on filling our box for the Christmas Food Drive. Please consider making a donation of microwaveable meals (NOT REFRIDGERATED). Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
Have a wonderful week!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
