We had a fantastic week celebrating Catholic Schools Week! Thank you to all for your support and participation.
We have a busy week ahead of us in the fourth and fifth grade.
This week we are doing grade level math computation reviews to make sure that we stay brushed up on our math facts. Please remember that the MobyMax 50 minute requirement is back in place this week. (The week runs from Monday through Sunday night.)
This week we will begin an Olympics unit completing various activities in language arts and math related to this theme. Also, just a reminder that on Friday, February 9, we are having a school wide dress down where the students can wear their favorite sports attire for a minimum of $5 to help support the SBS golf tournament.
In science, we are continuing our study of the water cycle and are completing an evaporation observation experiment to see if water evaporates faster covered with aluminum foil or uncovered. We are excited to check the progress each day!
In religion we are discussing how we receive God's mercy in the sacrament of reconciliation.
Also since Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day both fall on Wednesday, February 14, we are going to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, February 13 so that on Wednesday we can focus on the beginning of lent. The students are allowed to bring in Valentines for their classmates to pass out on TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 13. There are a couple of rules for the cards. Students must have enough cards for all the students in their class. There are 15 students in the fourth grade. The students may NOT fill in the “To” section they are just to complete the “From” section. Any treats or candy that is attached to the cards MUST BE PEANUT AND TREE NUT FREE. Also, the students are NOT ALLOWED to eat any of these treats at school, they will be sent home. Thank you for your cooperation.
There will be a spelling test on Friday, February 9.
