Welcome to the St. Bernard School FOURTH GRADE
|
May 20th-24thLast week was a very exciting week in 4th grade! On Wednesday, the chicks came back to visit! We had a great time with the chicks and enjoyed watching them outside. Then on Thursday was the long awaited trip to ShopRite. The students had a a fun time completing the problem solving stations and loved shopping in the store. We had a great discussion about all we learned. I would like to thank all those who volunteered to help us at ShopRite and made the trip a success.
This week is another busy week at school. We are preparing for the Spring Musical on Wednesday, May 22nd. Also, the book fair will be taking place on Wednesday and Thursday. Due to the busy week, there will be no spelling test this week.
Math- There will be a fraction quest on Wednesday, May 22nd. This will include adding and subtracting fractions and writing them in simplest form. We will then begin our unit on decimals.
Reading/Writing- We are working on applying various reading skills to a given text.
Social Studies- We are continuing our unit on Connecticut focusing on famous people in Connecticut's history. Also the students are putting the finishing touches on their CT PowerPoint.
Science- We will continue to learn about the ocean floor and its parts.
Religion- We are continuing Family Life and will begin the Lures program. We will also read and discuss the Gospel for this upcoming Sunday.
Have a wonderful week! Miss Gorzkowski |
