Our trip to the Silver Bell Farm is Wed.Oct. 11th..pumpkin fun for everyone! Note about the snack that is offered by our hos...if your child is not having the snack (Gingerbread cookies and apple cider) then please provide one from home for him/her. This is a NUT FREE zone, so nothing with nuts (even Nutella) can be brought in. Thanks!..Remember to dress comfortably, sneakers and also bring your own lunch. We will leave SBS promptly at 9:00 am. All chaperones must be here by 8:45am!! Many thanks for all your support.

Reading: we are continuing with various non-fiction selections for this week. As stated before, non-fiction is a bit more difficult for students to grasp inference, making connections with daily life situations and the vocabulary/comprehension skills. I am introducing "color poems" also; this will be a Language Arts activity.

Spelling: list is shorter this week (most words were found in "Penguin Chick" and now in our color poems as well... also listed in the Reading Street Purple Practice Book...cuddles flippers frozen hatch pecks preen snuggles Antarctica skate fluffy Challenge words: wintery thundery swaying scary croaking

A total of 15 words this week!

Math: please continue to drill multiplication facts at home and students will complete making their flashcards, for home study. Moby Max needs to be used at least 15 minutes about 3 or 4 times a week. For this week: Tuesday and parents you can opt to use it more frequently and then I can check on this activity. I'm also working on word problems and math vocabulary for multiplication. Terms they need.

Check out The Country Diner on Hazard Avenue in Enfield, Grade 3 will have a BOO-tiful display for Halloween. This will be up in the restaurant for all to see towards the end of this week(Oct.13th). My 3rd. grade students have done a great job with this hauntingly display and their BOO Poems. Grab a cup of coffee etc.  and look over their work...these young poets are great! Lots of fun!!
