We had a great first day in the 4th grade. It was nice seeing and meeting many of you this morning at the First Day of School blessing. Just a couple of updates after the first day.
Just a reminder that all snacks for snack time and lunch are to be PEANUT and TREE NUT FREE. They also may not say “may contain (traces of) peanuts or tree nuts”. The only product that may occasionally be seen in the classroom is a peanut butter sandwich for lunch as we understand that sometimes this may be all you have. It is very important that as a class and school we do not cross contaminate bathrooms, classrooms, and other places in the school with these allergens. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding to help make this school a safe environment for all students.
Also, the Big E field trip is coming up on Thursday, September 21. With this being said a few chaperones are needed. All chaperones must be VIRTUS trained. If a chaperone was VIRTUS trained somewhere other than St. Bernard, they must provide their completion certificate to Mrs. Hogan in the office. The chaperone selection process that is utilized is a lottery system. Therefore, I ask that anyone who is interested in being considered for the lottery send me a note or an email by Tuesday, September 12. You will then be notified on Wednesday September 13 if your name has been selected as a chaperone. When chaperones are notified that they have been chosen, they may send in the $7.00 for their spot. All students must have a parent/guardian complete a permission slip for them and send in the $7.00 in order for the student to attend. All permission slips and money should be sent in by Friday, September 15. If any student is not attending the school field trip for the Big E, I must be notified in writing ASAP and arrangements for the student to stay home that day must be made. Also, the student will be considered absent that day.
The school year is off to a great start, and I am looking forward to a wonderful year.
