St. Bernard School is excited to announce that we are now 5 years ahead in our technology plan thanks to generous donations from both The Hoffman Foundation and The Gawlicki Foundation! The intermediate and junior high students are all enjoying the casting features of their new 70" smart TVs while all of our younger grades continue to enjoy full-time access to interactive whiteboard technology. Teachers and students are loving the upgrade of our school PCs, with the added benefit of touch screen technology in the Media Center. In addition, tablets are being used in all classrooms throughout the school, with shared tablet labs in the primary and intermediate wings and a successful one-to-one tablet program for our junior high. Additional printers throughout the building have also increased student/teacher access to hard copies of their work. The most exciting new printer, however, is our new MakerBot 3D printer in the Media Center! This exciting technology will support our robotics program, as well as our CT Green LEAF and Laudato Si environmental education programs. All of this technology is supported by our newest acquisition, an upgraded, business-level server with increased storage, backup, and security.
We could not have completed this huge project without the help of all of our technology volunteers - the ones who helped us build our technology infrastructure over the past several years and the ones who've just joined us and set up all of our new equipment. This is an amazing time for technology at St. Bernard School!
