Math: Students will review writing numbers up to 999,999 and will learn how reading a graph can help solve math problems.
Religion: We will begin discussing the Joyful Mysteries and how Jesus called his apostles and disciples.
Spelling: finish, pilot, even, wagon, music, silent, rapid, female, lemon, pupil, focus, robot, tulip, camel, salad, resident, spinach, climate, tradition, innocent
Science: Our final week of our first unit of science. Students will begin working on a project involving solids, liquids and gasses.
Writing: We will be writing ghost stories, as well as editing our personal narratives.
Reading: Students will read "Money from Long Ago" and discuss the pros and cons of each kind of money.
Karate: Thursday after school
Math: We will be reviewing rounding, writing numbers different ways, comparing numbers and estimated and exact amounts, as well as discussing how to use patterns to help solve math problems.
Religion: We will begin talking about the Rosary, including how to pray the rosary.
Science: We will be reviewing matter and chemical changes and will begin a project on the stages of matter.
Reading: We will be reading "If You Made A Millon" and learn how to use context clues to help us figure out words we don't know.
Spelling: proud, shower, hour, amount, voyage, choice, avoid, thousand, prowl, employ, bounce, poison, annoy, appoint, broil, however, mountain, coward, turmoil, chowder.
Writing: We will begin peer editing our personal narrative writings and will begin writing our final drafts.
Karate: Tuesday and Thursday after school: Please bring clothes to change into!

It's Week 5! Here is what we will be learning in 3rd grade:
Math: Monday and Wednesday we will be reviewing everything we have talked about so far in preperation for our first math test on Thursday. We will be reviewing place value of numbers up to 9,999, rounding two, three and four digit numbers, comparing numbers, ordering numbers and estimated or exact amounts.
Religion: This week we will be continuing to discuss Saint Francis, as well as ways we can see the world as Jesus would.
Reading: We will be reading the story "If You Made a Million" with a focus on realism vs. fantasy and using context clues to define words we don't know.
Writing: We will be continuing to discuss what a personal narrative is and continuing to work on our first drafts of a personal narrative.
Spelling: clean, agree, teeth, dream, grain, coach, display, window, shadow, cheese, peach, braid, Sunday, float, thrown, entertain, complain, bleachers, willow, wheat
Science: We will be finishing up with the properties of matter this week.
