Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year at St. Bernard School! I look forward to having your child in my class this year and working with you as well. Here are just a few pieces of information about my class that I would like to share with you.
Class Webpage: I will be using the St. Bernard School website (www.sbsenfield.org) to regularly communicate with the parents about what is going on in our classroom. Our class page can be found under the classroom tab- Grade 3/4. It is on this webpage that I will post what we are doing for the week including tests and projects, as well as, upcoming school and class events.
Lunch Money: Every morning the students who are buying hot lunch or milk are asked to place their money in the appropriate basket at my desk. Hot lunch costs $2.25 and milk is $0.50. Please make sure to send in the exact amount for your child’s lunch/milk money in bag or container with their name clearly written on it.
Homework/ Planners: Each student will receive a planner, and we will review how to set it up each day. Time will be given for planners to be filled in. This will be a daily routine to ensure each student is aware of the assignments and knows what books and papers they will need to bring home. All homework except any long term projects is due the following school day.
Dismissal Notes: Please send in a note to let me know of any changes to your child’s dismissal routine. Also, if a student is going home on a bus with another student make sure they have a note for the bus driver as well.
Snack and Lunch: Snacks for snack time and lunch MUST be peanut and tree nut free. Peanut butter sandwiches are allowed, but proper handwashing and cleaning steps will be taken. Please check all packaging for the following :
- “May Contain Peanut or Tree Nuts”
- “Processed on shared equipment with Peanuts or Tree Nuts”
- “Manufactured in a plant with Peanut or Tree Nuts”
- “Contains Peanut or Tree Nut Ingredients
*Also, please read ingredients for the words peanuts or tree nuts (Nutella, walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, cashews, etc.).*
Teacher Communication: Emails are read first thing in the morning and often not again until after school and meetings. If you have an important message, please send a note in with your child or contact Mrs. Hogan in the office.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation this year. I am excited about teaching your child and collaborating with you to ensure a successful school year. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any point with any questions or concerns at email@example.com or by sending a note to school with your child.
