We are off to start a full week of school!
We had a wonderful start to the school year in Kansas and the Emerald City.
On Tuesday, September 11, it is Back to School Night at 6:30pm starting with a PTA meeting followed by the opportunity to come to the classroom to learn our classroom routines and expectations for the year. Also, any 4th grade parents who has students interesting in joining band there is a Band Parent Meeting at 6:00pm at the school prior to the Back to School Night.
Also, Big E Field Trip Permission Slips went home, please make sure to return the permission slip and the $7 ASAP. Any parent interested in being a chaperone, must be VIRTUS trained and have their paperwork on file in the office. Then you must send in a note indicating you are interested by Tuesday, September 11. On Wednesday, September 12, chaperones will be notified if their names have been drawn in the raffle to come to the Big E.
Here is what we will be learning in our class this week!
Grade 3 Math- Review addition and subtraction computation.
Grade 4 Math- Review multiplication and division facts.
Language Arts- Review Roald Dahl’s Enormous Crocodile through various reading activities.
Social Studies- Discuss American symbols and understanding the components of Social Studies.
Science- Continue learning the scientific method.
Religion- Discuss the Holy Trinity. Also, read and discuss the Gospel for this Sunday.
There will be a spelling test on Friday, September 14, for grades 3 and 4. The words in italics are the challenge words of the week. Students should practice all words.
