I would like to thank all of you for making the time to come to Parent Teacher conferences. It was a pleasure to meet with you. I look forward to continuing to work with all of you to help the students have a successful year in the Land of Oz.
A couple of reminders for the week:
Wednesday, October 31 is an Early Dismissal for Teacher Professional Development.
Thursday, November 1 is All Saints Day, and we will be gathering for Mass at 1:15pm on this Holy Day of Obligation. NO DRESS DOWN PASSES ARE ALLOWED.
All Knights of Columbus Permissions Slips and $20 are due by Wednesday, November 7 because the final number of students must be submitted to the Knights of Columbus. If a student is NOT attending, I need a written note by Wednesday, November 7.
Spelling- There will be a spelling test on Friday, November 2.
Grade 3- sunglasses, football, homework, haircut, popcorn, railroad, snowstorm, earring, scarecrow, blueberry, butterflies, lawnmower, campground, sandbox, toothbrush, thumbtack, earthquake, scrapbook, courthouse, whirlpool
Grade 4- morning, forest, garbage, form, alarm, corner, story, argue, backyard, start, partner, storm, Florida, apartment, sport, force, forward, sharp, garden, Arkansas, departure, margarine, informative, snorkel, carnation
Social Studies- There will be a quiz on the map related vocabulary on Friday, November 2.
All students should have their vocabulary completed in their notebook. They also were encouraged to bring home their social studies book to study. In addition to the vocabulary students will have to read and interpret a map.
Math- The fourth graders are mastering two digit by one digit multiplication. They will have a test on Tuesday, November 6.
The third graders are working on the three and four times tables. They will have a graded test on the multiplication tables 0-5 on Tuesday, November 6.
Language Arts- The students are working on creating a written retelling on Stellaluna. They are practicing using the writing
Science- This week the students are going to continue learning about bats.
Religion- The students will discuss the feasts of All Saints and All Souls. We will also read and discuss the Gospel for this Sunday.
